Augusta Street Education and Family Life Center

Mission

The mission of the Education and Family Life Center is to improve the lives of children, youth, families, and communities by strengthening family values, child well-being and youth development. Our mission is to further enhance the lives of people by working together with families to change the mindset of relying on public assistance and assist in finding meaningful employment with the ultimate goal of building self-worth and becoming contributing members in their home and community.

Bread & Pastry Distribution

Every Saturday we distribute day old bread to our community, donated by Costco. During this time, it allows us to connect with our community by providing for their physical needs through bread and pastries and their spiritual needs through one-on-one prayer and counseling.

Grocery Bag Giveaway

Bi-monthly we put together grocery bags of non perishable items for our community. Our goal is to feed at least 100 families. Our church is located in an area where there are numerous low income families and those who are homeless so these grocery bags are greatly appreciated.

Back-to-School Book bag Giveaway

Annually, before school reopens we host a Back-to-School event where we provide the children in the community with book bags filled with school supplies. We just want to reinforce the importance of getting an education and this is our way of showing our support.

Coat
Giveaway

As the weather begins to change from fall to winter, we start collecting new and gently worn coats, hats, scarves and gloves to give out to our community. Many members of our community don’t have the means to purchase proper winter coats, so we provide one for them at no cost. We have coats for all ages, even small children and babies.
